I remember, it was this time last year that I first made hummus. I didn’t know what to expect because this was also the first time that I tried it. But, oh my, was I pleased with the result. Hummus became my new fave to spread on toast and sandwiches, as well as a yumcious dip for veggies. I’ll be honest, I was addicted!
I’ve played around with the ingredients since then and now have a simple, yet delicious homemade hummus recipe.
This only takes 5 minutes to make, so why not give it a go?
- 400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp tahini
- juice of half a lemon
- 1 tsp paprika (optional)
- 1/2 tsp cumin (optional)
- salt and pepper
- Blitz the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice and paprika in a food processor until a paste begins to form.
- Add the water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency (I used 4 tablespoons).
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
